About the role...

Sales Engineer

Reporting to: General Manager 

Overall purpose of the job: 

Based at our branch in Churchtown, Dublin, the Sales Engineer will assist with the creation and provision of product quotations and spare part proposals, to the IPP client base and partners.

This involves dealing with client’s enquiries by telephone, emailed correspondence or at the IPP trade counter. Interaction with colleagues and principal suppliers to meet the required deadlines.

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

·        Exhibit a proficient level of technical and engineering knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems

·         Carry out all tasks as detailed by the IPP General Manager

·        Collaboration with Service, Workshop and Minor Works/ Contracts as required

·         Identify troublesome client applications to utilise IPP team knowledge and strength

·        Engage in consultative selling by understanding client needs and providing appropriate product recommendations

·        Maintain regular communication with existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and identify up-selling opportunities

·        Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., marketing, internal sales, operations) to provide market insights and customer feedback

·        Identify troublesome client applications to utilise IPP team knowledge and strength

·        Exhibit good oral and written communication skills and confidence in dealing with a wide range of people, including clients, contractors, suppliers, designers, managers, directors and plant operators

·        Report progress of workload as required

·       Complete work to the detailed level applicable to the project, or application, as directed 

Key Attributes & Skills:

·        Ability to work well within a team

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain relationships with clients

·        A self-starter who is highly motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently

·        Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate product benefits

·        Knowledge of HVAC products and their applications is advantageous

·        Proficient computer skills, including experience with CRM software and Microsoft/Windows OS, KSB Customer Portal and Maxton

·        Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

·        A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
