Job Description

Maintenance Technician

Reporting to: IPP General Manager

Location: Churchtown, Dublin

Overall purpose of the job:
Based in Churchtown, the Maintenance Technician will assist with the installation, service and repair of pumps and pressurisation equipment in the Dublin area. There will be a requirement to travel abroad for specialist training

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Exhibit a proficient level of technical and engineering knowledge and the ability to provide day to day mechanical expertise within a building services and water treatment environment
  • Be responsible for maintenance and system support on all process equipment and pumping systems predominately in the greater Dublin area
  • Use analytical troubleshooting skills to quickly determine the root cause and all necessary repairs
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in an efficient, safe manner and in line with current H&S legislation
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation using our mobile CMMS system
  • Plan work activities in conjunction with the Service Manager and Area Supervisor
  • To perform the job in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time-to-time

Core Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

• Diploma/Senior Trades in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of water pumping systems, pressurisation equipment, pipework installation and pressure/flow instrumentation
• Candidates should be flexible regarding working hours
• Full driving licence
• Strong teamwork abilities
• Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
• Committed to maintaining high safety and work standards.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

On occasion, unusual hours of work may be required in special circumstances and the individual would be expected to be flexible in this regard. There may also be a requirement to travel abroad, or within Ireland and spend time away from home. This would be communicated in a suitable and timely manner. Fair and reasonable expenses incurred at this time would be covered by IPP.

The individual is expected to maintain a valid full driving license for the upkeep of the role detailed.

Salary: Commensurate to experience

Working Hours: 08.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 08.30am to 4:00pm Friday.

Holidays: 23 days per annum.

The successful candidate will report to the IPP General Manager.
